Prior to founding melt, Mona has held a variety of professional health and fitness positions in the public and private sectors. As a registered nurse she spent over 15 years practicing in the field of maternal child medicine. Her appointments included time spent as a labor and delivery nurse, a nursing staff educator, a community health educator and a Quality Improvement Specialist. While completing her master’s degree in Management, Mona conceived, created and directed the business plan for the Meriter Hospital Children’s Center, an employer sponsored child care center in Madison, WI. She has also worked in academic settings at the University of Wisconsin Medical College including roles as Director of Aerobic Fitness for the Department of Preventive Medicine and as a project specialist for the Department of Psychiatry.
Throughout her professional nursing career she always dabbled in the fitness industry by teaching classes at several Madison area fitness centers including, Vic Tanny, Gold’s Gym, the Exercise Studio, Capitol Fitness, Moksana Studio, ANIU spa and yoga, Fitness Balance and at the UW Sports Medicine Center where she continues to teach as a Health & Fitness Instructor.
A regular at national and regional conferences as both an attendee and speaker, she pursues continuing education and fitness certifications at a tireless pace. Her commitment to knowledge and safety while keeping abreast of cutting edge trends in fitness is what keeps her clients and students coming back for more. Mona has created melt as place to share what she loves best about fitness, the ability to transform the mind body and spirit.
