What you like best about personal training/teaching classes?
I like to see that there are people of all ages who care about their health and I’m impressed at their dedication to ensuring their quality of life.

Why did you become a trainer/instructor?
I consistently would cross paths with individuals who were looking for more than what they were receiving either in their therapy program, fitness program, or in training for a specific competition. I had something to offer these individuals. Their needs would re-ignite my passion for sports biomechanics and movement re-training. Becoming a trainer enabled me to bring together the concepts of exercise science, sports rehabilitation and biomechanics and integrate them into a customized program... for YOU.

Favorite type/mode type of training?
My favorite mode of exercise is anything that requires just you and your body. I am very curious at the potential of what your body can do. You are only as strong as what you can control, and you are only as fast as what you can control. Having good kinesthetic awareness and control of your own body is much more complex that one might think.

Your own athletic accomplishments:
I played 3 sports in high school, volleyball, basketball and track. I was a recipient of the WIAA Scholar Athlete Award. Professionally, my training program and philosophy has been recognized nationally at both the American College of Sports Medicine and at the National Athletic Trainer’s symposia.

Things you are currently working on/ training for:
I am always working on increasing my repertoire of movement patterns so that I can turn around and teach others. I believe that the larger your repertoire, the more movement choices you have to call on for increased performances and to solve movement challenges.

Hobbies/What you do when you are not training:
I enjoy spending time with my family hanging out at the Union, hiking in the state parks or biking around the Madison Lakes. When I feel creative, I enjoy working on a family scrapbook.

Family or significant others:
My immediate family includes my husband Dan, daughters Dani and Tegan and our cat, Frasier.
