Ben Dreyer

BA, CSCS, USATF Level 1 Coach

If Ben Dreyer’s life were a mobile in a child’s nursery, movement and exercise would be its axis. Hanging from the mobile would be a pair of track spikes, a road bike, and a copy of “Zen and the Art of Archery.” Below that would be a piano, a guitar, and a stack of family photos. If that doesn’t clearly illustrate Ben’s training style, perhaps some historical context will.

Ben’s training career started on the track as a collegiate and professional runner. While at St. Norbert College, he was a two-time NCAA National Champion at 400m and a 10-time All-American in three different events. After college, Ben made the unlikely leap of becoming a professional Track & Field athlete. He received full funding from the U.S. Olympic Committee and resided at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA. The following year Ben received sponsorship from Holyfield International Track Club and competed internationally in Europe.

While at the Olympic Training Center, Ben began working with a team of experts to direct a comprehensive training program. These practitioners included physiologists, bio-mechanists, athletic trainers, sports psychologists, nutritionists, and some of the best track coaches in the world. This laid the groundwork for Ben’s training career and provided an example of what a collaborative approach to health and exercise can accomplish.

Ben is now motivated to help people find balance in their lives by taking well-chosen steps. We are all on a continuum of healthy living – the key is to identify our goals and begin designing a roadmap to reach them.
