David W. Davis II

After many years working in the restaurant industry as a chef and business manager, I decided to change careers and develop my passion for fitness, teaching, and sports. This change was driven by the fact I faced pre-diabetes, was diagnosed as hypertensive, and was 260 pounds at my heaviest weight. My road to fitness and a changed body composition was challenging and difficult, but family and other fitness professionals were integral to my successful achievement of my fitness and body composition goals. I am proud to say that I am an athlete, have restored function, and all of my negative metabolic issues have been reversed. I have an interest in pursuing postgraduate training in Exercise Physiology, and I find it very rewarding and fulfilling when I can work with individuals (especially with obesity and low fitness levels) to help educate them on incorporating exercise into their lifestyle while I help to continue to actively promote the impact of exercise and fitness on overall health to various populations.

The golf industry allowed me to enhance my passion with exercise and fitness, I have been working in the golf industry over the past 13 years and have learned valuable lessons in teaching methodology, movement analysis, various approaches to fitness and athletic performance, and business management. I earned my degree in Kinesiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with an emphasis on Exercise and Movement Science and my training encompassed biomechanics, exercise physiology, pharmacology, exercise psychology, clinical exercise testing and prescription, strength and conditioning, and other very important kinesiology subjects that I use in my practice. I am a Certified Personal Trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and have earned the prestigious Exercise Is Medicine Credential with the ACSM that allows me to accept physician referrals for clients seeking to restore and increase exercise and movement in their lives. My focus has been to teach my clients the benefits of progressive exercise programming while augmenting their strength, fitness, and athletic goals. This approach has lead my clients to achieving lasting positive lifestyle physical activity and fitness changes and concurrent visible results.
